Trustee Joyce Peters said in the meeting Medical Mutual’s insurance through the Ohio Township Association Risk Management Authority for four Parkman township employees and one employee spouse skyrocketed due to illness, not accidents. “That is based on our history and this year, we have had an abysmal history,” she said, adding when illness is the cause of increased claims, insurance companies will not negotiate for a lower rate.
